COVID-19 Information
At Birchwood Nursery School, we are committed to providing a learning environment that is as safe as possible for our children and staff. We are continually reviewing our practice as new guidance emerges surrounding Covid-19 and will take any further steps to ensure we are doing all that we can to minimise the risk of transmission and to keep everyone safe. At present we have three drop off and collection zones into school as well as operating a one way system to reduce the contact parents and children have with each other at the end of a session.
Staff in school adhere to social distancing as far as they possibly can. The children's well-being and care are fundamental to our ethos and staff will offer reassurance and comfort to any child who may need it. We continue to follow Government guidelines and you can read our latest risk assessment which we continue to review and update as new information becomes available.
Rapid Flow Testing
Staff voluntarily participate in twice weekly rapid Coronavirus testing (lateral flow test). As 1 in 3 people with the virus are asymptomatic this testing identifies those with the infection to minimise the spread.
From 8th March parents of children attending nursery are encouraged to participate in regular rapid flow testing. More details for parents and carers is available here on the Gov.UK Website.
